6) Use of your data for direct advertising
6.1 Registration for our email newsletter
If you register for our email newsletter, we will regularly send you information about our offers. The only mandatory information for sending the newsletter is your email address. The provision of further possible data is voluntary and is used to be able to address you personally. For the sending of the newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that we will only send you an email newsletter when you have expressly confirmed that you consent to the sending of newsletters. We will then send you a confirmation email, with which you will be asked to confirm by clicking on a corresponding link that you want to receive newsletters in the future.
By activating the confirmation link, you give us your consent for the use of your personal data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. When registering for the newsletter, we store your IP address registered by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration, in order to be able to trace a possible misuse of your email address at a later time. The data collected by us when registering for the newsletter is used exclusively for the purposes of advertising communication by means of the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link provided for this purpose in the newsletter or by sending a corresponding message to the controller mentioned above. After unsubscribing, your email address will be immediately deleted from our newsletter distribution list, unless you have expressly consented to the further use of your data or we reserve an additional data use that is legally permitted and about which we inform you in this declaration.
6.2 Newsletter distribution via CleverReach
The distribution of our email newsletters takes place via the technical service provider CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede ("CleverReach"), to whom we pass on your data provided during the newsletter registration. This disclosure takes place in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR and serves our legitimate interest in using an advertising-effective, secure, and user-friendly newsletter system. The data you entered for the purpose of receiving the newsletter (e.g. email address) is stored on the servers of CleverReach in Germany or Ireland.
CleverReach uses this information to send and statistically evaluate the newsletters on our behalf. For the evaluation, the sent emails contain so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which are one-pixel image files stored on our website. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. With the help of so-called conversion tracking, it can also be analyzed whether a pre-defined action (e.g. purchase of a product on our website) has taken place after clicking the link in the newsletter. In addition, technical information is collected (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). The data is collected exclusively in pseudonymized form and is not linked with your further personal data, a direct personal identifiability is excluded. This data serves exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.
If you wish to object to the data analysis for statistical evaluation purposes, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with CleverReach, in which we oblige CleverReach to protect our customers' data and not pass it on to third parties.
Further information about CleverReach's data analysis can be read here: httpss://www.cleverreach.com/de/funktionen/reporting-und-tracking/ You can view CleverReach's privacy policy here: httpss://www.cleverreach.com/de/datenschutz/.
6.3 Advertising by mail
On the basis of our legitimate interest in personalized direct advertising, we reserve the right to store your first and last name, your postal address and – provided we have received this additional information from you within the framework of the contractual relationship – your title, academic degree, your year of birth and your professional, industry or business designation in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR and to use it for sending interesting offers and information about our products by mail.
You can object to the storage and use of your data for this purpose at any time by sending a corresponding message to the controller.
6.4 Google Analytics
On the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online offer in the sense of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR), we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC ("Google"). Google uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the online offer by the users is generally transmitted to a server of Google in the USA and stored there. Google is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement and thereby offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (httpss://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active). Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate the use of our online offer by the users, to compile reports about the activities within this online offer, and to provide us with further services associated with the use of this online offer and internet use.
In this process, pseudonymous user profiles can be created from the processed data. We only use Google Analytics with activated IP anonymization. This means that the IP address of the users is shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other member states of the agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a server of Google in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by the user's browser is not merged with other data from Google. Users can prevent the storage of cookies through a corresponding setting of their browser software; users can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to their use of the online offer to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: httpss://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. Further information about Google's use of data, setting and objection options, can be found in Google's privacy policy (httpss://policies.google.com/technologies/ads) as well as in the settings for the display of advertising by Google (httpss://adssettings.google.com/authenticated). The personal data of the users will be deleted or anonymized after 14 months.

- Right to be informed in accordance with Art. 19 GDPR: If you have asserted the right to rectification, erasure, or restriction of processing against the controller, this controller is obliged to inform all recipients to whom the personal data concerning you has been disclosed of this rectification or erasure of the data or restriction of processing, unless this proves to be impossible or involves disproportionate effort. You have the right to be informed about these recipients.

In the event of withdrawal, we will delete the affected data without delay, unless further processing can be based on a legal basis for processing without consent. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent prior to withdrawal;
