With PROFI-Clean Bioethanol 96.6%, you can bring a cozy flame and pleasant warmth into your home, out onto the balcony or terrace – without wood, coal or ash.

Suitable for:

  • Ethanol fireplaces and ethanol stoves
  • Tabletop fire pits
  • Combustion chambers
  • Decorative fire features & more

Why PROFI-Clean Bioethanol?

Made from plant-based raw materials

Bioethanol is made from plant-based biomass, such as grain or sugarcane – not from crude oil.

Low odour

When used correctly, bioethanol burns without smoke and without the typical wood or coal odour.

No ash, virtually no soot

It leaves no ash behind, and when used correctly, virtually no soot is produced. This saves you cleaning effort.

Easy to use

Pour it in, light it safely, and enjoy the flames. Extinguish it using the cover or closing lid of your device.

No chimney required – but ventilate regularly

Ethanol fire pits generally do not require a chimney. Because combustion consumes oxygen and heat, water vapour and CO2 remain in the room, you should ventilate regularly and adhere to the manufacturer's minimum room size requirements.

Tips for use:

  • Make sure your ethanol fireplace or stove is suitable for bioethanol and follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully.
  • Never refill a burning or still hot combustion chamber.
  • Do not use bioethanol in kerosene heaters, oil lamps or for grilling.

APPLICATION:

Before using PROFI-Clean Bioethanol, be sure to read the user manual for your device to avoid dosing or handling errors. Go through it point by point and follow the instructions provided there.

Make sure the combustion chamber is clean and free of dust or other residues. Check that all safety devices are intact and working correctly. Then carefully pour the bioethanol into the combustion chamber of your ethanol fireplace or stove. It is best to use a funnel or a special filling device to avoid spills.

To light the bioethanol safely, use a long, flexible lighting rod or a long match. Keep a sufficient distance and make sure not to burn yourself. Let the bioethanol burn for a few seconds to ensure that the flame is stable before closing the combustion chamber.

To extinguish the fire, it is best to use a special cover or the supplied closing lid. Allow the combustion chamber to cool before refilling with bioethanol.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Always close the container tightly after use and store it in a cool, well-ventilated place and out of reach of children and pets.

Hazard statements
Highly flammable liquid and vapour. Causes serious eye irritation.

Safety information
If medical advice is needed, keep the container or label for reference. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. Do not smoke. Keep container tightly closed. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool.

Frequently Asked Questions about Bioethanol

How much bioethanol does an ethanol fireplace consume?

This depends on the burner and flame height. Standard devices consume approximately 0.2 to 0.5 litres per hour – so with 1 litre you will get around 2 to 5 hours. You will find the exact value in your fireplace manual.

Which pack size is worth it?

The larger the container, the lower the price per litre. With a 4-pack of 5-litre canisters you pay significantly less per litre than with the 1-litre bottle. You can see the basic price per litre directly for each variant.

Does bioethanol smell when it burns?

When used correctly, bioethanol burns without smoke and without a wood odour. A slight odour when lighting and extinguishing is normal. If it smells stronger, the burner is often dirty, the flame is set incorrectly or the room is not ventilated enough.

Do I need to ventilate when using an ethanol fireplace?

Yes. The flame consumes oxygen, while carbon dioxide and water vapour remain in the room. Ventilate regularly, adhere to the manufacturer's minimum room size requirements and never leave the fire unattended.

How do I extinguish the fireplace correctly?

With the extinguishing cover or slide of your device. Do not blow it out and do not pour water into the combustion chamber. Keep a fire blanket or suitable fire extinguisher ready for emergencies.

When can I refill it?

Only when the flame is completely out and the combustion chamber has cooled down. Refill using a funnel and wipe up spilled ethanol immediately before lighting again.

How do I store bioethanol correctly?

Tightly closed, cool and well-ventilated, away from ignition sources and out of reach of children. Do not place the canister directly next to the fireplace.

Can I use bioethanol in a kerosene heater or for grilling?

No. Bioethanol is only intended for devices that are approved for it. For kerosene heaters, use low-sulphur kerosene.
